This privacy policy outlines how the Leafy App Team ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, protects, and discloses user information when you use our mobile application Leafy ("the App"), which is distributed through the Google Play Store.
We are fully committed to protecting your privacy. We comply with all applicable privacy regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Information We Collect
To provide a high-quality plant care companion app experience, we may collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication tokens (e.g. via Firebase Auth or Apple/Google Sign-In).
- Plant Care Logs & Data: Information you input into the App regarding your plants (names, watering schedules, care histories, room locations).
- Device Camera & Photo Gallery Access: If you upload images of your plants to track their growth or identify them, the App accesses your device's camera or photo library. Photos are only accessed with your explicit consent and are processed locally or sent securely to our API for indexing.
- Usage Data: Anonymous analytical statistics regarding app interactions, such as feature usage, button clicks, and app launch frequency, to improve the App's interface.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the plant care services inside Leafy, including:
- Syncing your garden list and care notifications across multiple devices.
- Setting local notification reminders for watering, fertilizing, and misting tasks.
- Analyzing application performance and debugging crash logs.
Crucial Security Statement: We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or lease your personal information, email addresses, or plant photos to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Permissions Required
The App requests the following system permissions to work correctly:
- Notifications: Required to trigger reminders when your plants need water or care.
- Camera & Gallery Access: Required to attach custom photos of your plants inside your virtual garden.
4. Data Retention and Security
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App services. We employ industry-standard secure socket layers (SSL/TLS) and encryption protocols to protect your data during transfer and storage. If you use Leafy without an account, your data is stored locally on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
5. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to access, modify, export, or permanently delete your account and plant logs at any time. You can delete your account directly within the App's settings panel. Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request via our web console in the Data Deletion tab of this website or by emailing support@leafyapp.com.

Terms of Service

Welcome to Leafy. By using our mobile application, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms of service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or accessing Leafy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately uninstall and delete the application.
2. App Usage License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Leafy for personal, non-commercial purposes on compatible devices owned by you.
3. Content & Plant Identification
The plant care advice, schedules, and identification suggestions provided by Leafy are for educational and hobbyist purposes only. We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of our identification models and are not liable for any damaged, withered, or overwatered domestic plants.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree not to upload content (such as plant photos or forum posts) that violates copyright laws, contains malware, or constitutes offensive material. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that breach these standards.
5. Limitation of Liability
The application is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Under no circumstances shall the Leafy Development Team be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use or inability to use the application.
6. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the local jurisdiction of the developer, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Data Deletion Request
Google Play Console rules require us to provide a simple way for users to request the deletion of all accounts and associated personal data.
Important: Deleting your account will permanently remove all your virtual plants, watering histories, preferences, and custom plant photos. This action cannot be undone.
To delete your data, you can do so in-app via Profile -> Settings -> Delete Account. If you no longer have the app installed, please submit the secure deletion request form below:
